"Quality Worth Crowing About!"™ for years to come
Our better feed, coupled with healthful conditions of the house, promote the natural behavior of our chicken to eat and grow at their own individual paces. In contrast to today’s industrialized grow out processes, our traditional methods allow chickens to be raised without the use of antibiotics which are commonly used in the industry as an accelerant to artificially enhance growth.
IT'S HOW WE WERE RAISED.
HISTORY ON THE FARM.
Gerber Poultry had its origin in 1952 when Dwight and Melva Gerber began processing chickens that were grown on their family farm. They delivered these fresh chickens to customers' homes in their local community. This humble beginning has evolved into a growing family business that now has modern processes. Fresh, clean chicken that has a natural great taste has always been the standard for the Gerber family, as proven by Dwight’s first motto “Quality worth crowing about!”™
The second and third generations of the Gerber family continue to believe that customers still want the highest quality and best-tasting chicken products available. The Gerber family is very proud of the quality reputation their chicken has earned over the years. Today they market their chicken as Gerber's Amish Farm Chicken®.
